In the Plex: How Google thinks, works, and shapes our lives

Author Steven Levy, writer for WIRED magazine, just released a new book In the Plex detailing the inner workings of Google, a company so utterly unique among other tech companies one whose name has become an actual verb in the English language (as well as in many others, such as the Japanese gu-gu-ru - ググる). From Gmail to AdSense to Street View to Wave, Levy charts a striking and eloquent path across privacy issues, legal disputes, and a corporate culture and ethos unparalleled by any other...

...Of course this is just what I've heard haven't read it myself (yet).

Definitely worth checking out if you have any interest in how the most influential company of the early 21st century came about, how it transformed the way humans interact with machines (and each other) ever since, and what makes the people who work inside tick.
